HCPA and the Fragrance Science & Advocacy Council (FSAC) will hold a joint webinar to provide participants information of toxics release inventory (TRI) reporting requirements that are now in effect. In response to a petition filed under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, EPA recently listed twelve chemicals on TRI, including HHCB (Galaxolide, CAS #1222-05-5) as a chemical of special concern with a reporting threshold of 100 pounds. Given the widespread usage of HHCB as fragrance component and the low reporting threshold, downstream manufacturers should have a clear understanding of potential record keeping and reporting requirements under TRI. Concurrently, once a substance is listed on the TRI, it automatically effectuates the disclosure requirements under the California Cleaning Products Right to Know Act (SB-258).
The webinar will focus on the legal/regulatory requirements and the practical details on record keeping and reporting obligations by manufacturers and suppliers.
